i feel like an old lady right now as i update you ladies (and gentlemen). sipping on a whiskey on ice washed down w/ a multi-vitamin.
yesterday i planted a vegetable garden. purple cauliflower, kale, brussell sprouts, lettuce, mint, flat-leaf parsley, chives, tomatos, beans, and cukes. all organic seedlings and mostly organic soil components. :)
watched the sox kick some ass today. totally rad. Hey Maggie, look for me next thursday when they play the mariners. I have a seat behind home plate! i am still scoring free tix thru old work connections. haha. sweet.

i don't want my hair to fall out, i don't wanna grow up...

today it turned to summer. you all know how that works in new england. last week was biting cold and windy. i walked to my classes all pissed off cuz it's technically spring, yet freezing cold. now all of a sudden it's hot and i have a sunburn. yeah. spring/summer happens that fast here. so i spent the day doing yardwork. then i went to my mom's for a bbq for bella's 8th birthday.

i got her a sweeeeet hoodie at the garment district in boston. totally overpriced, but whatever. it's cammo w/ a pink skull on front. she added some gold studs so the skull now has gold teeth. I was really impressed with that!!! damn, she is creative!

okay, i am going to bed. totally wiped. joey hung out on friday, which was rad, but i really can't stay up to 5am drinking at moment, which probably dissapointed him. i am trying to stay focussed on final exams and all the other everyday shit that takes up my time...like tying my shoelaces and brushing my teeth. goodnight.

Today a thought came to me as I was driving. I don't have to be scared of crazy intense science math. The whole point of school is to learn stuff you didn't previously know a lot about. That made me happy. You know what else made me happy?

• my shoes. my outfit seemed kind of boring as i was getting dressed...jeans, black t-shirt, black hoodie, striped socks...and then i put on my lavender/black checked vans and it really pulled the whole thing together.
• my tuna/veggie sandwich. soooo tasty.
• the ny times. it's free at school! totally rad bonus.
• the crocuses are still alive and well even though they are 1/2 buried in snow. yay for spring flowers.
• rockstar parking spot i scored this morning at school
• rockstar parking at the grocery store
• mason jennings song on a mix that emilee gave me: I am lonely, but i won't be lonely always. sun's gonna shine on my backdoor today. and you know what? it totally did.

Okay I really need to get back to my calculator. Hahahaha. Seriously. And I have the crappiest one ever. When my ship comes in I am buying the new TI 84 Plus graphing calculator. Yeah, that's right. It has come down to this: I am excited to spend $100 on a frickin dork machine.

holy crap i figured it out...

I couldn't remember my new log in so i just kept trying passwords...now i can't remem which i used. so, yeah here i am dooooods.

so as you all know i am moving to california no later than august 1st. this school is going to be so freakin good for me. i am trying to get into an underwater photography class since i will be scuba certified by May.

Hmmm. This week has been strange. I am not sure how to explain. but here is what i figured out: (yes, another list)

• I am happy to be single.
• It has paid off to be honest.
• You can be really good friends with former lovers without weirdness. (which is good cuz they are now room mates).
• Quiting my job and going to school was the smartest decision I could have made in regards to my future. I have what it takes to be a really fucking awesome biologist.
• Some people will never get it. It's okay to stop trying to explain.
• Leaving my dog when I move is going to break my heart. She has more family here and it would break her heart if I took her away.
• Pirate leggings, and converse sneakers should, in fact, be paired together.

Hey I'm back. I don't have a lot to report so I'll just post my "to do" list.

• skip spanish class and return ugly shirts I bought at tj-max while under the influence
• get oil changed in car & go to car wash
• laundry
• change B string on guitar and play the damn thing LOUD!!!!
• clean up room a bit, bring down the 30 or so drink glasses that are collecting dust next to/under bed
• study for exams
• practice hip-hop routine and brush up on my "body roll" skills while cranking Dangermouse and such
• make dentist, hair, and accupuncture appointments
• shovel the snow bank off front steps...is like climbing everest to get into front door. need crampons & pick axe, which is difficult while carrying groceries, books, dog, bowling ball, roommates, beer etc.
• try to find bit of weed that is hiding from me...hmmm maybe i smoked it?
• get part time job or find a pile of money and a bag to put it in

Fake chicken, metric conversions, and me.

So, it finally freakin snowed in The Shire. Enough to sled on! The Keene crew and I met up at a ginormous hill in Walpole for an afternoon of sledding and ballyhoo. Was fun and scary. Everyone laughed at me when I announced that I was "taking it easy due to lack of health insurance." I was serious! Next thing I know, Karen is at bottom of hill bleeding from the forehead. Enough to require stitches & supervision due to minor concussion. Poor Karen.

In other news, I have discovered that Quorn makes fake chicken chunks. (not just loafs or patties). This is extremely exciting to me. Making fake chicken salad has never been easier! I made some kickass tomale pie as well. Here is the recipe:

In a 9" pan coated w/ a bit of olive oil:

• slices of polenta to cover entire bottom of pan
• layer of salsa fresca
• layer of fake chicken chunks
• a bunch of chopped scallions
• some fresh tomato chunks
• a handfull (careful Nello!) of green chillis
• a bunch of black beans
• some cheese to coat top of creation

cover with foil and bake at 350 for a while. when it seems like stuff is cooked (about 30mins) remove foil and cook until cheese is all melty and stuff is bubbling around edges of pan.

Okay, that's all for now. I am trying to write a lab report and convert stuff to metric units. It really pisses me off that this country is just NOW adopting this system. Retarded. What took so effing long?

Word dudes. Just had my first hip-hop class. Yeah, I was popn n lockn all over the place. I seriously hate to excericise, but this totally tricks me into being active cuz I def love to dance. I can't wait to bust out my new moves at a club near you. Look out mofo's, katattack is comin to town.

In other news, I am in the full swing of school again. Will start my open water dive certification stuff next week in lab. Holy crap, I can't believe I am gonna be a scuba diver and study biology for realz. My final lab for this class is will be in May diving in the West Indies identifying corals and fish (and sharks!) etc. Wow. I will also be diving off a continental shelf that starts at 30 t and drops to a 6000 ft abyss. Kind of like jumping off a building and swimming along side of it 100 ft down. YIKES! Okay, enough of the science nerd talk. Just checking in.

I had the most amazing dream last night. I was standing near an abandoned house watching people loot the place. There was a boy there walking out the front door with the kitchen sink...this really upset me for some reason and I started yelling at him. I called him every nasty name I could think of!! Including "frat boy" even though he wasn't.
A fight ensued...we were throwing rocks and sticks and cursing up a storm. Next thing I know, I am ducking for cover as a large bit of toilet-seat is flying towards my face. I fell on the ground. He ran over to me. I pretended I was dead. Then we both started laughing hysterically! He took both my hands and helped me up. We were grinning like fools at each other, and it was amazing. He was beautiful! I had that sparkly feeling you get when you realize you LOVE someone and they LOVE you back. No words, just electricity. ZAP!
I spent most of today looking for him in the faces of strangers and aquaintances.

Okay so here's what's new in the life and death of kat:

1. School starts again tomorrow. Bio lab 9am!
2. I love my dog and now feel capable of taking care of a pet. Have had her for over a week and don't want to give her back to her estranged father.
3. Bryan is dating Merris. fuckwads. douchetards. cunt muscles. whatever. haha!
4. Think I have decided on Portland as school/city of choice. Seattle being a close second. And my MOM is thinking of relocating to west coast as well. wow. if you know my mom, then you know that's a BIG deal.
5. I haven't a whole lot to say but feel the need to update thanks to ten's last comment.

Here i am in the Couve. it is def more than i expected and also less on the boy front. so yeah, there has been massive amount of lovin n such and just a generally awesome time, but had some time to reflect now that i am away from my homelife. here is what i have come up with:
1. I love being in a city
2. it's ok to get lost and in fact, you should. you will evenutally figure it out (doube meaning here...)
3. going to museums alone is more fun sometimes
4. amazing food and lots of wine = lots of sex and laughing and happiness and makes for an amazing nites sleep
5. it is possible to spend entire day wandering city and spend less than $5.
6. it is time for me to move (visiting WWU in Washington tomorrow)
7. above all else i value vic's friendship more than i value the crush i have on him.

AND most of all here is an epiphany (sp?) i had while talking to Teneisha:
Most of us can fall in love with ANYONE. Under the right circumstances it can and will happen. It is possible that some of us (me included) won't have just one great love. I will prob have many. It all depends on who I am at the time, meaning what is going on in my life, mental state, location, interests etc. And since those things change so often, my love interests are bound to change right along with them. I will always be able to fall in love and the happier i am, the better the boy. But I am not ready for one yet! Oh no, I am dating myself at the moment!

Um, first day of vacation and don't really know what I feel like doing. So I am going to make egg salad and finish off the carrot ginger soup I whipped up the other day. So effing good. I can make the shit outta soup I tell ya. You should try it. Here is my recipe:

Saute in olive oil (in this order):
giant sweet onion
then add a shit ton of smashed garlic
last, put in a handful of chopped ginger
(stir w/ wooden spoon cuz ginger sticks.)
IMPORTANT: before ginger turns brown add a 8 cups of veg. stock.
throw in a bag of carrots peeled and cut in half
boil till the carrots are soft
put it in a blender and puree that shit

Thing that made me wake up at 4am and cry till 6am:

• Finally finished Time Travelers Wife. wow. wow is all I can say. And also that I want to be in LOVE! well, i am, but I want to BE loved is more like it. (Ten, I will mail it back to you this week)

Things that made me laugh this week:

• Isabella asking me what I was studying in college. I told her: Mostly Science. She told me: Like animals? If you study animals you will probably want to take care of monkeys, huh? (she is prob right to some degree. kids are simply honest and refreshing sometimes. they break it down for you, so listen up! especailly 6 year olds.)

Thing I did that was totally theraputic and helped me relax even if my whole body hurts:

• Went go-karting in Boston. Got into a collision w/ Jesse and some other dude going like 40mph. (Yeah, these karts haul ass. You have to wear helmet, neckbrace & fireproof suit.) But I came in 1st place. haha. rad.

Things to look forward too:

• Tennis raquet & Emiloo coming to town
• Seeing Vic in the couve
• Hanging in sweet w. coast city for 2 weeks
• Spanish class
• waxing my downstairs for the first time in 2 months

Hey! I am in the middle of finals, so I have been trying to buckle down and such. Here is small update.
Luccas Market boy:
His name is Riley. (cannot seem to find him on myspace or facebook. haha i am stalking him). I met him on the street the other day but I guess you could say I ran away. Got scared that he would ask me out. Suddenly I didn't want that. He is perfect as he is...a mystery where I can fill in the missing pieces.

School:
Blah blah blah. Looking at Western Washington University while I am on the West Coast. Still plan on going to Portland OR for summer classes. I really really really want to get into WWU, or one of the Seattle schools. X your fingers for me, k?

A funny dream I had:
I was having sex with Slater from Saved by the Bell....wtf? It was supposed to be Vic, but he turned into Slater. He was telling me he was sorry and that he couldn't be exclusive with me. and I was like, sweet...there is a boy at Lucca's...
